Kathleen Yvonne (DeMers) Reid, age 84, entered into heaven on November 4, 2017 with her family by her side. She was born February 10, 1933 in South Sioux City, Nebraska to Nellie Colista Morlan and Maurice DeMers. She was the only child to this union.

Kathy met the love of her life, Glen Reid, and after a whirlwind romance, were married May 22, 1948 in Henrietta, Texas. They made their first home in Grandfield, Oklahoma. In 1950, they moved to Agate, Colorado so Glen could work for the Union Pacific Railroad. They then moved to Deer Trail, Colorado in 1959 where they spent the rest of their lives.

To this union three children were born; Glenna (Marvin) Brockman of Strasburg, Colorado, Connie (Lloyd) Wallace of Agate, Colorado and Ricky (Patty) Reid of Brighton, Colorado. There are eight grandchildren; Yvonne (Doug) Wearley, Shauna (Frank) Valdez, Tandy (Shane) Lamberty, Michelle (Frankie) Fields, Angie Cunning, Paula (Robert) VanTassel, Kristel (Nate) Wass and Kimberly (Juan Soto) Reid. She also leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren.

Kathy worked at various jobs throughout her life, but none were more important than being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She enjoyed traveling with her family and good friends, camping, playing cards and games, reading, working in her yard and supporting her family in any endeavor. She was an active member of her church, the American Legion and the Senior Citizens group.

Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie, her father, Maurice and her husband Glen. She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Kathy will be remembered for her devotion and love toward her family and her feisty and fiercely independent spirit. She touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity.
