Biography

Sylvia Joan Ellis of Hugo, CO left this world on March 1, 2010 known to friends as Joan. She was born on June 13, 1936 in Wilton, ND to Harry and Mary (Bodner) Triska. Upon graduation from the Wilton High School Joan moved to Chicago, however after two years decided to return to Bismarck, ND where she met Paul and was married on January 30, 1959. Several years and two daughters later the family moved to Denver where a son was born and the family resided until moving to Hugo in 1997.

Joan is survived by her husband, Paul Ellis of Hugo, CO and daughter Mary Jane and husband Bill Gibson of Westminster, CO, daughter Cheryl Ann and husband Steve Lopez of Aurora, CO and a son Michael and his daughters; Jordan and Rylie all of Aurora, CO.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Ryan, son of Michael.

Joan’s greatest joys in life were the love for and from her family and friends, her love of nature and the outdoors and her devotion to caring for her beloved pets.

A family remembrance will be held at a later date.
