Althea Henderson

Althea “Dolly” Henderson died peacefully at home in Bennett, CO, on January 9, 2023. She was 82. Dolly was born on January 23, 1940, in Mile City, MT, to Alvin and Helen Muri. She graduated from Custer County High School in 1958. She married her husband of 58 years, Rev. Don L. Henderson, on July 18, 1964, in Mile City. Dolly shared more than 50 years of ministry in the Assemblies of God Church with her husband, sharing her love of music by playing the piano for their congregations in Pomona, KS, Caney, KS, Russell, KS, Sterling, CO, and Cortez, CO. In her retirement, she enjoyed keeping up with current events and sports and loved crossword puzzles. Survivors include her husband Don, sister Beverly Haynes of Sheridan, WY, brother Doug Muri of Austin, TX, daughter Denise Veal (Dennis) of Venice, FL, son Donovan (Julie) of Westminster, CO, grandsons Drake Veal (Lisa) of Fort Riley, KS, Dalton Veal, Daegan Veal and Devon Veal of Venice, FL, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other close family and friends. A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12 at Journey Church Strasburg, 56000 E. Colfax Ave., Strasburg, CO. A reception will follow.
