Arlene Lavina Montgomery
Arlene Lavina Montgomery, age 79, of Rush, CO passed away in Albuquerque, NM on December 27, 2020 from complications from pneumonia. Arlene moved to NM to be with her daughter and family after the loss of her beloved husband DJ Montgomery in 2015. She was born on April 18, 1941 in Colorado Springs CO to parents Albert and Opal Payne.
Arlene worked numerous jobs in her lifetime. She studied to be a Nurses Aid while living in Wyoming and worked at both the local Nursing Home and the Hospital. Upon moving back to Colorado, Arlene took on the job of Custodian at the Rush Schools and later became Head Custodian. Several generations of kids in the hallways called her mom for fun.
Arlene is survived by her sister Iris McFarlin and brother George Payne (wife Pam), daughter Lynette O’Connor (husband Sean), her grandson whom she helped raise as her own Randy David Walker (wife Shannon), great grand daughter Hayden Walker, son Randy Walker, many nieces and nephews and her rescued canine companion Gypsy.
Out of respect for the health of Arlene’s family and of others during this Pandemic, they have chosen to have a small, socially distant, graveside service at Kanza Cemetery, Rush CO Jan 6, 2020
