Bonni L Rowe

Bonni passed on to be with her heavenly Father, Christ our Lord, on Nov. 2, 2023 while residing at Grace Manor in Burlington.

Born March 30, 1946 in Flagler, Bonni joined five brothers and four sisters to the family of William and Edna Davis living in Arriba, CO. Bonni was spoiled especially by her father, who passed when she was six! Bonni loved to sing and her dad loved to have her sing wherever he could show her off. A big part of Bonni’s early years was helping raise her younger brother born only 15 months before her father’s death.

Bonni was very fortunate to have an older sister, Lila, and her husband Vern Wood, to assist her mother in seeing that Bonni had the means and mentors for her school years. Bonni graduated Arriba High School in 1964 and was very proud of her chorus and band honors, and as having served as editor of the 1964 Annual! As a member of the Congregational Church in Arriba, Bonni accepted Christ as her Savior and loved church singing.

After graduating high school, Bonni moved to Denver with her mother and younger brother, where she got a secretarial job at American Auto Parts Warehouse.

In 1966 Bonni married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Rowe from Flagler, and they moved to Pueblo, CO. Jerry attended Southern Colorado State College while Bonni went to work for L.B. Walker Radio Company. The way this company took Jerry and Bonni in as family was amazing.

After being drafted in 1968, it was three years before Jerry and Bonni were able to return to Flagler. In 1973 they were blessed with twin girls, Amy and Amber.

Although Bonni helped Jerry with the family business, her real joy and passion was to be a wife, mother and homemaker. In 1991 Jerry and Bonni moved to Stratton, Colorado and have made it their home since.

Bonni leaves behind her husband of 57 years, Jerry; her daughter Amy and husband Andy Sircy, their boys Logan, Hayden, and Easton; her daughter Amber and husband Ray Lightle, their daughters KateLyn and Makenna. Bonni had only two sisters still with us of all her brothers and sisters; Lila Wood of Delta, UT, and Myrna Summers of Cheyenne, WY. She was blessed to still have a special friend and sister in law in Marilyn Weatherly (Doug); Pattie Davis (Darrell -Deceased); and Elsie Davis (Chuck -Deceased).

Bonni dearly missed in their passing her brothers Rod (Judy); Ronnie (Jody); Bill (Pat); Chuck (Elisie); Glenn Ray; Darrell (Pattie). Her sister Raydeen (Eldonstone) Willa Mae (Carter Miller). Also a special friend and sister in law to Bonni was Jerry and Marilyn’s sister Judy (Ray Reed) who lived in Wray, CO.

Bonni was a kind and generous person who always appreciated family and friends. She suffered for years with Bi-polar depression but never held anything against anyone who could not easily understand her anguish.

Bonni left the world a better place for all of us, and that’s all you can ask of anyone!
