Bradley Vern Sallee

January 20, 1957 — March 22, 2023

Bradley Vern Sallee was born on January 20, 1957 in Hugo, to Vern and Judy (Julia Ann McCall) Sallee. He departed this life on March 22, 2023 while recovering from surgery at St. Francis‐ Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs. Brad was Vern and Judy’s second child, with older sister Pamela Sue, and younger siblings, brother Craig Steven and sister Kristi LeAnne. He attended Limon Public Schools, graduating in 1975. He was a gifted athlete, participating in football, wrestling and baseball. His love of sports continued after graduation where he was part of a bowling league with his dad, part of numerous softball teams over the years, and playing rounds of golf when weather and time permitted. Fishing and hunting were also sports he greatly enjoyed. In 1977, Brad married Debi (Johnson) Payne, and became dad to her son Michael Allen, who he adopted as his own. The family grew with the arrival of daughter, Trisha Michelle, in 1979. Following a divorce, Brad decided it was time for a new start and moved with his children to Torrington, Wyoming, working for the Platte River Valley Cable Company. While in Torrington, he married LeEllen Ertz in 1984. The family moved back to Limon in 1986, running the family’s Radio Shack/Sports Shack as L‐B Sallee Company. Brad began working for Mountain View Electric Association (MVEA) installing satellite dishes in 1988. He then took a position as a lineman with MVEA, moving his family to Simla in 1990. Following a divorce in 1993, Brad continued working for MVEA until a near‐fatal automobile accident in 1996 brought him back to Limon. He met and married Sheila Chapman and the couple later moved to Calhan where he was employed by Kunau Drilling. Health issues and a separation brought him back to Limon in 2022 where he resided with his parents. Brad loved his family dearly, and helping his parents brought him great joy. Brad was preceded in death by his sister Pamela Miller and brother Craig Sallee. He is survived by: his parents, Vern and Judy Sallee of Limon; son Michael Sallee of Colorado Springs; daughter Trisha Sallee of Littleton; sister Kristi (Dave) Payne of Limon; grandsons Christian Sallee of Littleton and Nathan Sallee of Colorado Springs; four nieces, one nephew, one great‐niece, three great nephews, and many other extended family members. Graveside services were held on March 29, 2023 at the Pershing Memorial Cemetery.
