Brenda Sue Turner passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022.
She was born in Burlington, CO on April 10th 1971 to Gordon and Dorothy Turner. She grew up in Seibert, CO where she graduated, as Homecoming Queen, from Hi-Plains High School.
After graduation, Brenda moved back to Burlington where she met Ernie Christensen, whom she later married on July 3rd, 1999. To this union was born one daughter, Angel Sue on September 18th, 2008. She loved her very much and looked forward to her visits with her and her adoptive mother.
Brenda had a heart for animals and had recently given a home to her cat, Buttercup, who’s trust she quickly gained. She was no stranger to a good walk and hard work. She was quick to have friendly conversation with just about anyone and took immense pride in her small lawn mowing service. These interests along with coloring, latch hooking, coffee and ice cream were amongst her favorite joys in life.
Brenda was the kind who didn’t ask for much. If you asked her what she needed she’d often reply, “she had God’s plenty”, but in the same token when she DID need something she was no stranger to a stubborn streak. This included not answering the phone when her favorite show, Days of our Lives, WWE Smackdown or her beloved Patriots (Tom Brady) were on TV.
In her final years Brenda gained a new independence over her life which allowed her to reconnect and enjoy the friends, family and things she loved. She was a kind, delightful spirit who will be greatly missed amongst her family, friends and community.
Brenda was preceded into death by her parents, her daughter Angel and older siblings Barbra Shaffer and Jim Turner.
Those left to cherish her memory are siblings: Mary (Cebert) Morgan of Myrtle Beach, SC; Charlie Turner of Springfield, CO; Art (Becky) Turner of Craig, CO; Eva (Glen) Klee of Marble Falls, TX; Annette (Clint) Jones of Strasburg, CO; Ida Baker of Blanco, NM; Reta Turner of Craig, CO. Her estranged husband, Ernie Christensen and numerous nieces and nephews.
An informal celebration of life will be held on April 2nd, 2 pm at Love’s Funeral Home in Burlington, CO.
Donations in Brenda’s memory may be made to Eastern Plains Animal Welfare Alliance, Burlington, CO or Hi-Plains Athletics, Seibert, CO.
