Byrel Woolsey age 95 passed away January 17, 2020. He was born south of Ramah Colorado December 23, 1924 to Margaret Elsie Moore and Chester Albert Woolsey.
Byrel went to school in Calhan all twelve years of his schooling. He was a World War II Veteran and served on the USS Washington a battleship where he was a gunner’s mate. He was a very accomplished businessman starting a grocery store in Simla, Colorado and later a standard gas station. He was Mayor of Simla, Colorado. He sold insurance, he was a real estate broker-appraiser, also a vice president of Citizens National Bank in Limon, Colorado. He loved his church Living World Community Church and served faithfully. The most important accomplishment was accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, December 7, 1941 in Simla, Colorado at the First Baptist Church. He will be missed very much, until we meet him again in heaven.
Byrel was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie and Chester Woolsey. Six sisters; Evelena, Thelma, Ermma, Jan, Louise, and Sandra. Three grandsons; Joshua Adam Cofer, Michael O’Connor and Levi Schubmehl, Also preceded in death by his wife Sheila Jennings Woolsey and to that union was born; David C. (Linda) Woolsey, Bonnie Carneal/Late husband Albert, Gwen (Randy) Sanger.
Byrel later married Georgia Morris Cofer, July 1, 1967 and they welcomed; Rick (Cheryl) Cofer, Karla West, Shelly Schubmehl, Sherry (Joe) O’Connor, and Lisa (Joe) Rico. Byrel and Georgia enjoyed 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday January 25, 2020 , 10:00 am at the Living Word Church in Calhan, CO. visitation will be one hour prior to service. Interment Simla Cemetery, Simla, CO
