Charles "Chuck" Philip Hixenbaugh

Charles "Chuck" Philip Hixenbaugh, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on June 29, 2023, in Burlington, Colorado. He was born on January 12, 1963, in Denver, Colorado.

On paper, he was known as Charles but those close to him knew him as "Stoney" or "Chuck".

Chuck lived a life full of dedication and compassion. His warm heart and gentle spirit touched the lives of everyone he encountered. He will be remembered for his unwavering love and devotion to his family and his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

In his early years, Chuck attended school in Lakewood, Colorado, where he graduated from high school. He possessed a curious mind and a passion for learning that stayed with him throughout his life.

A large part of Chuck's professional journey was spent working at the True Value Warehouse in Lakewood, however, his heart was at home working at Bomgaar's in Burlington. He quickly became good friends with his co-workers and often razzed them saying "This place wouldn't run without me". His commitment and strong work ethic earned him the respect of his colleagues and customers alike. Chuck took pride in providing excellent service and was known for going above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction.

In 2000, Chuck made Burlington his home. It was here that he found love and companionship with Janet Short. They celebrated their marriage on September 12th, 2015. Together they created a haven of love and warmth.

Outside of work and family life, Chuck had a deep passion for sports. He was an avid supporter of the Colorado Rockies baseball team, Denver Nuggets basketball team and the Denver Broncos football team. There is a lack of words to describe the excitement Chuck felt when the Denver Nuggets won the Championship game. The thrill of watching these teams play brought great joy to Chuck's life.

On July 6th, 2023, friends and family will gather to honor the memory of Chuck Hixenbaugh at Love Funeral Home Chapel (377 15th Street) in Burlington, Colorado. The funeral service will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with Pastor Lafe Murray officiating. Committal will follow at the Seibert Cemetery.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife Janet (Short) Hixenbaugh of Burlington; daughter Christina England; daughter Trina (Stacy) Loucks of Loveland; son Casey Short of Greeley; grandchildren Talyn Short, Mason Loucks, and Myles Loucks; sister Joyce Spencer of Denver; sister Wanda (Loel) Decker of Vona; sister Donna (Gene) Weiss of Bethune; sister-in-law Janice (Raymond) Niles; and brother-in-law Gerald (Jill) Masters and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Edith Hixenbaugh, sister Charlene Hixenbaugh, brother Gary Hixenbaugh, sister-in-law Myrna Rush, and nephews Kenny Neve and Andy Spencer.

Chuck's courageous battle with cancer came to an end, but his memory will continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be remembered for his kindness, integrity, and unwavering love for his family. Chuck's legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched with his generosity and compassion.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Chuck Hixenbaugh during this difficult time. May the memories you shared bring you comfort and may you find solace in the love and support surrounding you. Chuck's spirit will forever be a guiding light in our hearts.
