Clara B. King, 93, passed away November 27, 2018, at the Lincoln Community Care Center in Hugo, Colorado. She was born to Warren and Lulu Ballard on January 24, 1925, in Holt City, Nebraska.
As a teenager, Clara helped her older brother with haying around Bassett, Nebraska. She then worked at the University of Nebraska in the Ag Department for around 20 years. After that, she worked for the Dean of The Engineering College. Clara also worked at the State House of Nebraska doing record keeping.
In 1958, Clara married Max King. A few years later in 1961, their son Leroy King was born.
She enjoyed going to auctions, gardening, sewing, raising chickens, and collecting antiques.
Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Max King. She is survived by her son Leroy, sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at 2:00p.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery in Arriba, Colorado.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the North East Lincoln Fire Protection District at 218 Elm Street, Arriba, Colorado 80804.
Arrangements are in care of the Love Funeral Home in Limon, Colorado.
