C. Ray Todd, 68, of Lander, Wyo., died Wednesday, June 27, 2018., at the University of Utah hospital, Salt Lake City.

Clardon Ray Todd was born July 29, 1949, in Humboldt, Neb, to Clardon C. and Frances L. (Bitterman) Todd. He was a grandson of Tandy O. and Jessie M. Todd and Jacob and Rosella Bitterman, all formerly of Arriba.

Ray grew up in Nebraska and Colorado. He attended schools in Denver and graduated from Middle Park High School in Granby, Colo., in 1967. For most of his life he lived in Colorado and Utah. Ray had a love for horses, cowboys and the wild west from the time he was a little child. He loved to watch western movies and collected saddles and black powder and vintage guns. When he was a boy, he would stay with his cousin Beverly Brent, her husband, Ron, and their family and help on their farm at Arriba.

Family, friends and coworkers thought Ray was a good friend and neighbor. He loved his children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed.

A beloved daughter, Hollie Rae, died in 2015. His parents, grandparents and a grandson also are deceased.

Survivors are two daughters, Brenda Lynn of Gypsum, Colo., and Tracy Lee of Georgia; eight grandchildren including Hollie’s children, Stephen Trent of Crawford, Robert Ray of Houston, Texas, and Tiffany Elaine and husband, Aaron, of Hotchkiss; Brenda’s children, Jessica Lee of Gypsum. Wendy Dawn of Spearfish, S.D., and Calvin William and wife, Athantasy, of Fort Collins; and Tracy’s sons, Jonathan Ryan and Derek Todd, both of Georgia; five great-grandchildren; his best friend, Patti Sutton of Ogden, Utah; and his sister, Judy Todd of Greeley.
