Crystal F Mcdaniels

July 22, 1926 — February 21, 2019

Crystal McDaniels passed away February 21, 2019 in Hugo, Colorado.  She was 92 years old. Crystal was born July 22, 1926 in Kinsley, Kansas.

At about the age of nine, Crystal heard the song “Life’s Railway to Heaven” at a revival meeting held in a small country church in western Kansas where they lived in a rural community for four years.  She loved this song and just hearing this song sung by the most beautiful young lady, helping in the revival, she would sing it at home alone without music or words, just what she had heard at those meetings.

“Life’s Railway to Heaven”

Then after the family had moved back to Kinsley, and in her adolescent years she attended the MYF (Youth Fellowship of the Methodist Church in Kinsley).  On Sunday evenings on of the ladies gave chalk talks as the youth sang.  This one Sunday evening, the lady drew the most beautiful picture of a lighthouse, using colored chalk on the blackboard as the group sang;

“Let the Lower Lights Be Burning”.

The years came and went and mother grew up as all children do.  She read a book “I Will Life up Mine Eyes” by Glenn Clark whose writing became her favorites.   In one of his books he stated, “Just one moment with God is worth a lifetime of searching”.

At about the age of 39 mother found that “Moment with God”.  This heartwarming experience was revealed to her in wondrous simplicity by God.  How “He is one with us all”, and ever seeking to awaken us to recognize the truth that “Sets us free”.  God Bless You All.

Crystal is survived by her husband Fred of Baldwin City Kansas, one son Michael (Sheri) Gaskins of Hugo, Colorado, one sister Alohma (Leon) Spangler of Bellevue, Washington, one brother, Linwood (Alberta) Stevens of Hutchinson, Kansas.
