Celebrating the Life of
David Lee Smith
David was born on December 23, 1941. He was raised in Del Rio, Texas with his two brothers. After he graduated High School, he went and served in the United States Army for 5 years.
He met the love of his life, Pilar Santiago, in New York City. The love birds dated for 16 months before getting married in 1964.
They settled down in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and began their family. Their daughter Angela was born in 1965 and their son Kelly was born in 1969.
David worked for NCR for more than 30 years before retiring and then working as a mechanic. He loved anything with a motor. David was involved in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb for about 25 years working on super-modifiers with the ‘Over the Hill Gang.’
He never missed an opportunity to smile and look on the bright side. He spent hours and hours sharing stories and pulling harmless pranks on those around him.
David was called home on September 16, 2020
