Doris Augusta (Paul) Ivey, 101, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on June 8, 2026. Doris was born May 7, 1925 on the family farm outside of Limon, Colorado to Minnie Marie Martha (Martin) Paul and William Frederick Paul, third of four lovely sisters. She graduated from Limon High School in 1941 and was waitressing in a truck stop when she met the love of her life, Jack Ivey. They married on May 5, 1946 once Jack was discharged from the Army. The blooming family moved to Rifle, back to Limon, and then settled in Colorado Springs in 1964 with their three children.
Doris helped Jack build an incredibly successful Komac Color Center, serving painting contractors and developing a custom picture framing business. They joyfully served the greater Colorado Springs area until their retirement in 1983. Doris was known for her devotion to gardening, cooking, canning, bird watching, and her love of the Lord. She spent countless hours in her yard and with her five grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Ethel Duell, Dorothy Baum, and Lorena Felzien, husband Jack Ivey, and grandson Mark Ivey. She is survived by her three children David (Debbie) Ivey, St. Louis, MO; Nita (David) Svoboda, Casper, WY; Kathryn Ivey, Colorado Springs; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild (soon to be two!)
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the Miner's Exchange, 11am - 1pm. To honor Doris’s generous spirit, the family welcomes donations in lieu of flowers to the Wounded Warriors Project. If you give, please note ‘In memory of Doris A. Ivey.’ Your support means a great deal.
