Dylan Andrew Baker
Dylan was welcomed to this world by Randy and Tina Baker on October 14th, 1997. Most of his life, he grew up in Seagoville, TX, with his Mema and Pepa, Glenda, and Dennis Barry. He went to school there, made lifelong memories there, and wreaked a little havoc among the streets. But that’s not what made him special. Dylan was special because of his giving spirit, his “don’t give up” attitude, and the love he had for people.
Many would say that was the most admirable thing about him. When you were loved by him, there was nothing he would not give or do for you. He would have walked through fire for you, and regardless of whatever situation he was in, he made sure you were protected and taken care of. Like anyone else, he had his imperfections. He could be stubborn and sometimes a little too carefree, but all the good in him outweighed that. His soul was mature but innocent; he was silly and serious, and he could outwork the best. From battle rapping with no rhythm to painting the perfect line to giving the shirt off his back. There was no light that shined greater than his.
Dylan is preceded in death by his grandfather, Dennis Barry and James Carroll, and his brothers, Daniel Newell and Karsen Carruthers. He leaves behind three loving parents, Tina Baker, Randy Baker, and Stacey McDowell. Grandparents: Glenda Barry, Trish Carroll, Randy Baker Sr., Pam Baker, Vivian Mothershed, and Cecil Mothershed. His siblings are Lauren Newell, Miranda Carter, Mason, and Chase McDowell. His nephew Aiden Wilkie and nieces Lakelyn Carter, Alexa McDowell, and Aubree McDowell. And an abundance of other friends and family that he knew and loved.
