Edward V. Emmerling

Genoa, Colorado

 

Ed Emmerling was called home to be with the Lord August 1, 2023, at the age of 72 in Loveland Colorado.  Ed was born December 1, 1950 to John and Lois Emmerling in Denver Colorado.  Ed grew up east of Genoa on the farm and attended Genoa school from grades 1 to 12.  After Graduation, Ed attended Colorado State University graduating with a degree in Agronomy in 1972.   

On April 17, 1971 Ed Married the love of his life Janet Amberger at the Genoa United Methodist Church.  They relocated to North Platte Nebraska where Ed began working for the University of Nebraska from 1972 to 1975.  In 1975 they returned to Genoa Colorado where they would spend the rest of their lives.  Ed began working in the Grain Elevator business where he would spend his entire career.  He loved his job and community.  Ed and Jan were blessed with 2 boys.  Ed enjoyed watching and attending all his children’s events and activities.  He was very supportive.  Ed also loved watching his Denver Broncos play.  He even attended many games in person enjoying season tickets for many years of his life. He enjoyed gardening and visiting with all members of the community.

 

Ed is preceded in death by his parents John and Lois Emmerling, his wife Jan and brother Tony. He is survived by his 2 sons Mark (Catrina) Emmerling and grandsons Caden and Ashton of Aurora and Kelly (Candy) Emmerling and grandchildren Taylee and Tyson of Greeley, and siblings  Betty Blazer, Rita Vicory, Glen Emmerling, Tom Emmerling and Sam Emmerling.
