Frances Alice Paulson

March 15, 1928 — July 15, 2021

Frances Alice (Nuttleman) Paulson, 93, of Limon, Colorado and formerly of Genoa, Colorado departed this earth to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Aspen Leaf Assisted Living in Limon, Colorado. She was born March 15, 1928 to Harry and Clara Nuttleman in Shaw, Colorado. Frances’ father, Harry, worked for the railroad and they moved to Canon City where she went to elementary and junior high schools. Frances learned to play baseball as she had six brothers and one older sister. She loved sports and throughout her life enjoyed playing and watching baseball and basketball with her brothers, kids, and grandkids. Times were hard when she was little during the depression and she appreciated everything and everyone. She learned how to make the best of things and not to take things for granted. As she finished junior high and entered high school, she watched four brothers go off to WWII and only three returned home. Her family moved to a farm in Lindon, Colorado and Frances graduated from Lindon High School in 1946. After high school, she took a writing course and received her certificate. Frances married Archie Carl Paulson on December 31, 1947 and was blessed with 45 ½ years of marriage. She loved being a farmer and rancher’s wife and worked hard to help him when she could. She milked cows and raised chickens to sell the cream and eggs and butchered chickens to put in the freezer. She canned food and loved to bake homemade bread and pies. Frances loved helping haul water to cattle or driving truck or tractor if needed. Together they had three children: two daughters, Carlene and Nancy, and one son, Jim. Frances loved her family and was active and supportive in all aspects of their lives. She loved the country life and entertainment was getting together with neighbors or family. She and Archie loved to go square dancing every Saturday night with Ralph and Ilene while Uncle Lyle babysat the kids and watched science fiction movies. Frances made sure the kids had music lessons on the accordion, piano, and band instruments. She supported them in 4-H club learning life skills. She loved the Lord and liked to help people. She was her mother and aunt’s hair beautician as she did their hair once a week without fail. She liked to read, embroidery, and do needlepoint. Frances drove school bus for 22 years for Woodlin School District R-104. She enjoyed being around kids and watching events, sports, and programs at school and church with her own children and then her grandchildren. She enjoyed camping with the family. In 2001, Frances bought a home in Limon and loved being with family and the grandkids and great grandkids and having them over. She loved to travel with family and see new places and do things she’d never done before like flying, riding in a limousine, flying in a helicopter, and going sailing. In 2011, she moved into assisted living which she truly enjoyed. She loved visiting with other residents, doing activities and playing games, reading with others, eating meals with friends in the cafeteria, having a salon at the facility to get her hair and nails done, and going to the church services with other residents there. She loved the people who worked there and took care of her and considered them friends. Frances is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Ed) Engle of Fort Lupton, Colorado; Carlene Mosher of Karval, Colorado; daughter-in-law, Vicki; grandchildren Chad Mosher, Matt Mosher, Wade Mosher, Jessica Mosher, Melissa Ward, Teresa Ryley, Jacob Paulson, Jared Paulson, Jeff Paulson, Jamie Goddard; 21 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and four nephews and seven nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry H. and Clara Nuttleman; brothers Carl Nuttleman, Ralph Nuttleman, Harold Nuttleman, Junior Nuttleman, Lyle Nuttleman, Bob Nuttleman; sister, Gladys Wyman; husband, Archie Paulson; son, Jim Paulson; and grandson, Joshua Paulson.
