Gloria T. Epley

Gloria Theresa Epley, age 91, passed away on August 25, 2026, in Byers, Colorado. Gloria, a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, was born on March 6, 1935, in Denver, Colorado, to Louis and Ruth Marrone. Raised on a farm in Westminster, Gloria graduated from Westminster High School in 1953, and just a few months later, on June 6, 1953, she married the love of her life, John Jay Epley.

Gloria dedicated much of her early career to United Bank, where she worked as a secretary for 15 years, before moving on to Batesville Casket Company, where she would retire after many fulfilling years. Her career reflected her caring nature, which she extended generously to those around her.

Gloria had a spirited zest for life. She found immense joy in playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she enjoyed cozy afternoons filled with reading, crafting, and spirited card games with family and friends. A valued member of the Guild in Aurora, she cherished her time spent in charitable work, giving back to the community that she loved.

Gloria leaves behind her beloved daughter, Gina (Russ) Morris of Byers, Colorado; her son, JD (Jessica) Epley of Oklahoma; her son, Anthony Epley of Rocky Ford; as well as her five grandchildren: Jesse, Amanda, Theresa, Dustin, and Meghan; her 15 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents, Louis and Ruth Marrone; three brothers: George Willams, Rudy Garcia, and Robert Garcia; and two great-grandsons: Cyliss Epley and Zybrandt Epley.

A Rosary will be held at Our Lady of the Plains Catholic Church in Byers, Colorado, on Friday, September 18th, 2026, at 12PM followed by a Memorial Mass at 12:30PM.
