Helen Blaylock

Helen Faye Bracken-Blaylock, 82, of Calhan, CO, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026.

Helen was born 11/11/1943 in Sheffield, Alabama, to Samuel Webb Bracken and Flora Cecil Matlock Bracken, both of Alabama.

Helen was preceded in death by her siblings, Shelby Stoneburner, Raymond Bracken, and Barbara Humbracht. Also, by her parents Samuel Webb Bracken, and Flora Cecil Matlock Bracken.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Blaylock; her son, Bryan Baldwin, and his wife, Krysia, and daughters, Silvia and Breana; her daughter, Tasha Garcia, and her husband, Patrick; her grandson, Taylor Starnes, and his wife Anne; her great-grandson, Waylon Paul; her baby sister, Carlene Robertson; and her nephew, Ricky Dodd and his wife, Vera. Many other family and friends.

Helen was more than a mother—she was a devoted wife, too, and the heart of her home. Strong and independent, she lived a simple life marked by hard work and steady love. She didn’t need grand gestures to be unforgettable; she showed up—in the meals made, the hands that helped, the words that lifted, and the quiet strength that said, “You can do this.” Those who knew her learned that love can be practical, faith can be lived, and a life well lived is often the one lived humbly. Her legacy carries on in her husband, Paul; her children, Bryan and Tasha; and in the generations after them—Taylor and Anne, and little Waylon Paul, Silvia and Breana—who will hold her close in memory and carry her strength forward.
