Jack D. Kunsch

Jack Douglas Kunsch, 66, passed away on Saturday July 18, 2026, in Limon Colorado. Jack was born on August 18, 1959 to Leona and Henry (Sprout) Kunsch.

He lived most of his life in Limon, with a few years in Breckenridge where he had his custom cabinet shop. When he came back to Limon, he worked at the Department of Corrections in South Limon for 10 years. While working there, he purchased a ranch N.E. of Limon between Limon and Genoa. He ended up running cows and calves until 2012.

Jack loved to shoot trap, sporting clays, and anything that had to do with shooting sports. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Sprout and Leona Kunsch, his sister Beverly Kunsch-Hollis.

Jack is survived by his wife of 17 years, Christine Johansen (Helms) Kunsch, and three step-daughters Lauren, Amy and Sarah Helms, a step grandson Anthony Gugino, and a step granddaughter Summer Reigh, and many other cousins.

A celebration of life will be held on August 22, 2026 at the Limon Methodist Church, 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Sandwiches will be catered by the Methodist Women’s Group.
