James L. Faughnan

James (Jim) Faughnan, 65, passed away on January 9, 2026, at his home in Elbert, Colorado.

Jim was born on April 29, 1960, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He lived his entire life in Elbert.

A proud graduate of Elbert High School’s Class of 1978, Jim was known for his strong work ethic. He was a man whose handshake carried the weight of a signed contract—his word was his bond. He believed firmly in the power of hard work and perseverance, never hesitating to lend a helping hand when needed.

Jim knew from a very early age that all he wanted to do was to be a farmer. He took great pride in the land he worked and the life he built. His dedication and resilience left a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Heidi Faughnan; his daughter, Katie Faughnan; and his sister Sue (Robert) McClain. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will remember his generosity and strength.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Eva Faughnan; and his brothers Pat Faughnan and Don Beaman.
