Jimmy Dean Fringer passed away March 24, 2024 in Strasburg, Colorado.   Jim was born in Oberlin, Kansas on July 2, 1944, to Dean and Ruth (Radcliff) Fringer.  He graduated from Decatur County High School. After high school, he joined the United States Army and served 12 years. He married Beverly (Mize) Fringer on October 17, 1981.

Jim gave his life to the service of others. He spent over 20 years of service at the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office and then went on and finished out his career at the Colorado Department of Corrections.  In retirement, he found the love of volunteering at the Longmont Emergency Unit.   At the age of 73, he was awarded Volunteer of the Year.

In his spare time, he loved to watch NASCAR. We could never plan anything on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon because he had to see the race.

Jim never knew a stranger; oh, how he loved to visit.  He would find local coffee shops or diners and go in and make lifelong friends.

Jim is preceded in death by his wife Beverly (Mize) Fringer, his son Scott Rush, his parents, and his brother, Larry Fringer.

He is survived by his daughter Steffiney (Michael) Quick of Strasburg, Colorado; and his grandchildren Lane Quick (Marisa), and Bailey Quick, of Brandon, South Dakota.

Memorial contributions can be made to: Longmont Emergency Unit, 663 17th Ave, Longmont, CO 80501.
