Joan Margaret Todd Bruner passed away on June 9, 2026, at the Community Care Center in Hugo, Colorado.
Joan was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, on June 11, 1932. She was the daughter of Lloyd Dale Todd (deceased) and Gertrude Mae Todd-Neiheisel (deceased). She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Todd.
Joan’s family includes her sons, Joseph Dee Bruner (deceased) and Jack Dennis Bruner and his wife, Cindy; her daughter, Jayne Ann Ashcraft; 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
On January 15, 1978, Joan married Jack Anthony Bruner. They resided in Aurora, Colorado. Jack started with the Aurora Fire Department as a volunteer and retired from the Aurora Fire Department 50 years later. Joan worked as a secretary, as a medical assistant, as a housewife and mother, and was always challenged by keeping track of Jack - as he was very special in ‘particular’ ways and a challenge to behold!
At retirement, the big move was made to Limon, Colorado. During retirement, they enjoyed many wonderful trips to Hawaii. They enjoyed moving to a smaller, quieter town.
After 56 years of marriage, with the passing of her husband Jack, Joan started her new journey traveling with her friends and many wonderful cruises and traveling with Jayne. Joan enjoyed and loved her church family at the Limon Methodist Church.
Joan’s life was so blessed with her religion, family, and friends. Joan always had a smile on her face and a kind, beautiful, and giving heart.
Joan will be missed dearly by all those who loved her.
