Juanita Grace Gordon

Juanita Grace (Nicks) Gordon was born near Matheson, Colorado on May 07, 1933. She was the second of four children born to Guy and Florence Nicks. She graduated from Simla High School in 1951. Juanita married Billy Gordon on June 05, 1951, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They had a son, Rick, and a daughter, Connie. They were blessed to celebrate 70 years of marriage together. Billy and Juanita farmed and ranched in the Matheson area for many years prior to their retirement.

Juanita worked for many years in the FSA offices in Hugo and Simla, and enjoyed working with the many farmers and ranchers in Elbert and Lincoln Counties. Juanita and Billy enjoyed traveling, and cherished the friendships they made on the many group trips they had taken.

Family was very important to Juanita. She enjoyed attending the grandkids and great grandkids ball games up until a few years ago when she wasn’t able to drive any longer. She really enjoyed having her grandchildren close and watching them grow. She was always interested in her great grandkids sporting events, and wanted to be keep up-to-date with the latest details. She was very proud of her family.

Juanita was very involved with the Central Bible church until she and Billy relocated to Limon. Although relocating didn’t stop Juanita from being involved, she often had a very full social calendar attending senior dinners, senior work outs, and she rarely missed the monthly Bunco parties she would attend or host. She was always such a caring and gracious host to anyone that came to her door. She truly had a servants heart.

Juanita was proceeded in death by her husband Billy Gordon; her parents, Guy and Florence Nicks; sisters Irene (Dole) and Esther (Mauck); and her father and mother in-laws Raymond, and Grace Gordon.

She is survived by son Rick Gordon and wife Cindy, daughter Connie and husband Mike Reilly; six grandchildren, Carissa (Doug) Cox, Kelly (Kyle) Kocerha, Kimberly (Tye) Amendt, Chris (Kelli) Reilly, Brian (Kayleigh) Reilly, and Teryn Reilly. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren; Caston, Carlee and Kinlee Cox, Treven, Tatum and Trenna Kocerha, Brynlee, Breckyn, Weston, and Wager Amendt, and Chole and Abigail Reilly; and her brother Delbert (Nancy) Nicks.
