Kent Eugene Minor, 67, of Idalia, Colorado, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025 at his home. He was born in Englewood, Colorado on August 3, 1957 to Kenneth and Lois (Armstrong) Minor. He graduated from Thornton High School in 1975 and attended Mesa State University in Grand Junction for 2 years. In 1978 he married Joy Tjornehoij and together they had two sons, Nathan and Cody. They divorced in 1987. In 1990 Kent married Kristi Bletscher. She survives of the home. When young, Kent was active in Boy Scouts of America, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Kent loved the outdoors and made a career of his passion, working 37 years for Colorado Parks and Wildlife. He served as a park ranger at Steamboat Lake State Park, Golden Gate Canyon State Park, Bonny Reservoir, Barr Lake State Park, and finished his career as Park Manager of State Forest State Park in Walden.
He retired in 2014 and enjoyed his time off hunting and fishing with his wife and sons, and many hunting dogs. He could tie flies in the car when stuck in traffic and could catch a fish where others thought there were none. He would walk fields with his hunting dogs from sunup to sundown, or until he shot his limit, then would keep walking and take pictures. He loved traveling, camping, and photography, and always made time for friends. Survivors include his wife Kristi, sons Nathan (Vanessa) of Ainsworth, NE; and Cody (Dana) of Jackson, ME; brothers Larry Minor (Raleigh, NC), Dan Minor (Lamar, CO), and sister Linda (Lou) DeNiro (Pueblo, CO); three grandchildren, one great grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
