Kim L. Goodwin

Kim Lowell Goodwin was born in Flagler, Colorado, on June 10, 1958, to Lowell and Veva Goodwin. He had four sisters: Minta Rose Wunder, Lucille Marie Dykes, Resha Jo Santistevan, and Rena Sue Goodwin; and one brother: Odis Wayne Goodwin. Kim was married to Tammy L. Bacon and to that union he was blessed with two sons: Nathan Lowell, and Tyson Wayne. Kim and Tammy were also blessed with two granddaughters: Rachael and Riley Goodwin; and two grandsons: Devin Wayne and Ivan Wayne. He passed away on August 7, 2025, after a long battle with cancer.

Kim worked with his dad and brother as a carpenter at Goodwin and Sons Carpentry, then in Denver as painter, and at a cemetery until he moved back to Flagler, and was working at Colorado Bird Seed and the COOP grain elevator. Kim retired from Coop in 2020 due to ill health.

Kim’s hobbies were fishing with his brother, Odis, and riding his Harley motorcycle. He loved reptiles, and over the years, he and Tammy had many turtles, a couple of alligators, snakes, lizards, and fish.

He was a devoted father and grandfather. He loved being with his grandchildren and spending time with his brother and sisters and family and many friends. He was generous to all and lived a simple life and in 2023 he gave his heart to Jesus. He had plans to be baptized, but due to poor health, it was never accomplished.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy; sons, Tyson and Nathan (Bobbie); his granddaughters, Rachael and Riley Goodwin; his grandsons, Devin and Ivan; his brother, Odis (Arlene) Goodwin of Flagler; his sisters, Lucy (Jim) Dykes of Helena, Oklahoma, Resha (Tom) Santistevan of Thornton, Colorado, and Rena Goodwin of Hiawatha, Kansas; plus a wide variety of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Veva and Lowell Goodwin, and his sister Minta and spouse Paul.
