Born February 18, 1940 to Lawrence J. and Mary J. Torline in Great Bend, Kansas. In his younger years the family spent time in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas before finally settling in Stratton, Colorado. Larry attended the St. Charles Catholic School through 8th grade and graduated from Stratton High School in 1958. Upon his discharge in September 1961, Larry returned home and married his high school sweetheart, Linda Marie Calvin, in February of 1962. After living and working in Denver for a short period, they returned to Stratton, CO in 1963. Larry began his career with the Colorado Department of Transportation’s Department of Engineering and continued to raise a family. In February 1985, Linda passed away after 23 years of marriage. Larry met Martha G. Monks and they married in July of 1988.
