Linda Jane Card, born on September 5, 1947, in Burlington, CO, to Ray and Harriet (Mohr) Ford, passed away on May 26, 2024. She was a woman of strength and character, known for her unwavering opinions and sage life advice, which she generously imparted whether solicited or not. Linda's love for her family was evident in every conversation she had with them; she took a genuine interest in their lives and always showed care and concern.
Linda spent her childhood in Vona, CO. She graduated from high school in Vona in 1965, but was married to George Card on October 21st, 1964. George and Linda went on to have one son and two daughters. She found joy in various activities that brought her closer to her loved ones. She was a formidable card player within the family circle, relishing every competitive moment. Her passion for movies led her to frequent trips to the theater, where she enjoyed immersing herself in stories on the big screen.
Traveling was another one of Linda's great loves; whether she was exploring the vibrant streets of Las Vegas or reveling in the charm of Blackhawk, she found excitement in discovering new places. Cooking held a special place in Linda's heart; she particularly enjoyed preparing chicken livers and relished the opportunity to share meals with those she held dear.
Throughout her life, Linda prioritized family and friends above all else. She delighted in the monthly luncheons with her woman's group, creating lasting bonds over shared meals and conversations. Family holidays were treasured occasions for Linda; she reveled in the warmth of get-togethers with her sisters and extended family members. Linda truly enjoyed planning and orchestrating yearly family reunions at Lakeside Amusement Park.
Linda leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her loving husband, George W. Card of Strasburg, CO; son, James L. (Tammy) Card of Strasburg, CO; daughter, Lisa M. Matschke of Strasburg, CO; daughter, Tina L. (Gary) Jurgensmeier of Boiling Springs, SC; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who meant the world to her; as well as sisters Kay Crum and Carol Taylor.
