Linda M. Glover

November 29, 1931 — November 30, 2019

Linda Mae Glover passed away at her home November 30, 2019, one day following her 88th birthday, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born November 29, 1931, in Oktaha, Oklahoma, to Denver and Eunice (Ross) Hendrix. She was the only daughter with seven brothers. At the age of fourteen, the family moved to the Matheson area where she graduated from Simla High School in 1949. Linda was introduced to Lawrence Hoefler through Lawrence's sisters who were Linda's classmates. On January 4, 1950 Lawrence and Linda were united in marriage and lived on the farm where Lawrence was born and raised with his sisters and brother. To this union was born six children, Patricia (Terry) Lovesee of Kimball, Nebraska; Richard (Jennie) of Hugo, Colorado; Michael (partner David Pritchett) of Northglenn, Colorado; Marjorie (Don) Tracy of Simla, Colorado; Gerald (Barbara) of Shady Shores, Texas; and Ronald (deceased at infancy).

Linda was a devoted wife and mother. Besides the hard work of a farmer's wife and raising five children, she worked outside the home numerous years at the Elbert County Extension Office and the ASCS office, both in Simla, Colorado. With all these duties, she found time to enjoy gardening, sewing, and was an active member in the Midway Extension Club, and a longtime member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Limon. She took great pleasure in spending time with her nine grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, and numerous step children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Following Lawrence's tragic death in June 1989, Linda continued to operate the farm and later married Waldo Hubbard of Limon In January 1992. They lived on the farm during their short marriage until his death from illness in June, 1994. In 1996, Linda married longtime friend Edward Glover of Calhan, Colorado. They continued to live on the farm until health issues forced them to move to Limon, Colorado, in 2014. Ed passed away in February, 2017, and Linda continued to live in her home and operate the farm/ranch until her death. Through the tireless efforts of her excellent caregiver, Amy Martin, she was able to fulfill her wishes to remain in her Limon home.

She is survived by her five children and their families, eight step children Becky (Gary), Lahna, Melodie (Gale), Cheryl (Dennis), Ellen (Dan), Lynn (Gerilyn), Ed Jr and their families; her four brothers Marvin (Bernice), Marion (Carolyn), Terry (Charlie), and Wayne (Sherri); sister-in-laws Betty, Martha, Mary, and brother-in-law Lloyd and numerous nieces and nephews.
