Linnea P. Ware

Lynn was one of eight children as well as a strong, caring, compassionate and outgoing woman. Lynn was always willing to engage in any conversation or interactions with people she knew and sometimes with some she didn’t. This quality made it easy for Lynn to make many long-lasting friendships. Lynn was always willing to play the clown when it came to her famous homemade birthday songs that we all so looked forward to hearing every year. Lynn’s infections personality and laughter could bring a smile to anyone’s face. Lynn wanted everyone not to take life so seriously and let them know that it was okay to laugh at yourself.

Lynn was known for her deep appreciation of many things. One being music, with an extensive music collection, and attended many concerts in her lifetime. Also, she was a life-long Broncos fan, and was fortunate enough to even attend some of the games. Let’s be honest, “Momma Lynn” was known for many things, far too many to be mentioned. Lynn loved her family deeply, as they loved her deeply in return. She was proud of her husband, children, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. She celebrated all of their successes and accomplishments as if they were her own. Lynn cherished her husband and was always ready and willing for their next adventure together. Lynn and her loving husband had a harmonious relationship of more than 53 years together, and they stood by each other even when life threw its hardest punches. Lynn had an enormous heart and loved to give to others, which was shown by the years she volunteered and oversaw Emily’s Pantry. Lynn was an avid reader of her favorite book, the Bible, and routinely read it on a daily basis every morning. She loved her church family and Bible study groups. Those two loves brought her guidance, knowledge, and cherished friends that led her to always trying to do right, and an everlasting life with Christ.

Lynn is survived by her husband Leonard Ware, her son Bryant Ware (Kimberly), daughter Terra Ware (Michael); her grandchildren Brandon Ware, Devon Ware who affectionately referred to her as “YAYa”. She is also survived by two siblings; Raymond Matteson (Susanne) of Lamar, CO, and Jerri Macgregor of Lakewood, CO.

Lynn is preceded in death by her mother Hazel Matteson, and four siblings; Jeanne Davidson, Mae Colpitts, Lois Payte, George Workman and Kathy White.

A memorial service for Lynn will be held Thursday December 18, 2025 at 10:00 am, and a reception to immediately follow at Stratton Church of God, 213 2nd Street, Stratton, CO 80836.
