Lyle Hamacher, 80, of Simla, Colorado, passed away on July 2, 2025, at home. Lyle was born November 22, 1944, in Matheson, Colorado to Ralph and Genevieve (Grokett) Hamacher. Lyle was raised on the farm where he was taught to work hard, be honest and true to his word. He graduated from Big Sandy School in 1963. On June 27, 1965, he married Carolyn Kudlock in Limon, Colorado. They just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple was blessed with two wonderful daughters; Laura was born June 5, 1967, and Linnea was born February 23, 1969.
After his father death, Lyle moved the family to Simla where he operated a concrete business then a trucking business where he hauled hay and cattle. He returned to ranching, reflecting his enduring connection to ranching and rural life. Whether managing his business or tending to his livestock, Lyle worked hard and long hours every day with commitment and pride to make a living for his family. Ranching was more than an occupation for Lyle; it was a way of life. He found purpose in caring for his livestock and embraced country living.
He enjoyed hunting and later as his health declined, he enjoyed watching the wildlife on the creek. You could always catch him watching a rodeo on TV.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughters Laura (Bill) Swaney and Linnea Frates (Bobby Smith): grandchildren; Michelle (AJ) Walker; Kristie(Mario) Lopez; Kara(Richard) Sheets; Michael (Kaitlin) Swaney; great grandchildren Caleb, Oaklyn, Brooklyn, Devon, Eric, Lexi, Isabelle, Billy, Jameson, Elijah and sister Dyana(Gene) Davis and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Donna, brother Leon Hamacher, and great granddaughter Shelby.
Lyle loved his family very much and was very proud of them and all their accomplishments. He instilled in them good morals and values which led to strong work ethics and the skills to be confident and self-sufficient. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
Per Lyle's wish, no service will be held.
There's no more mending fences,
At the place I'm going to.
There's no cows in the pasture,
When I get there, I'll be through.
I'll look down from the Heavens,
I'll be there day to day.
I'll help you through the hard times,
I'll never go away.
When the grasses start to growing,
And the calves are on the ground,
You'll know I'm there in spirit,
I'll always be around.
