Mark David Manyik

October 3, 1963 — March 29, 2022

On October 3, 1963, Mark David Manyik was brought into this world to Father-Delmer Manyik and Mother-Millie Manyik. Mark spent his childhood years working hard on the family farm and relentlessly trying to annoy his sisters Terri and Lisa. As he grew into young adulthood Mark took pride in being a 4-year Varsity athlete in football, basketball, and track. Being as charismatic as they come, he landed himself the title of Homecoming King his Senior year. As his high school career came to an end Mark decided to attend Pueblo Community College to study diesel mechanics, but only committed to one year of schooling before deciding instead to go to work for Delmer and Millie’s concrete company. A few years later Mark married Kerri Ullom on January 26, 1985, and after two years together they brought Chance David Manyik into the world on March 19, 1987. Marks little boy was his pride and joy. Together they would go fishing, Pheasant hunting, and Mark made a point of immersing his son in the wonderful world of trucking from a very young age. As Chance grew up Mark grew right along with him as his biggest fan. Mark would never miss an opportunity to be at his sons’ sports games, whether he was coaching the little league baseball team or yelling from the stands at a high school basketball tournament. He was always there to offer support. In years after, Mark would become a grandfather to two little girls whom he loved dearly. Aiden, the oldest, fondly remembers her grandfather introducing her to Eggo waffles and iced tea mixed with Splenda sweetener. Together Mark played doctor/patient with Aiden(age5) for hours as she used her toy otoscope and stethoscope to find copious amounts of earwax and a musical heartbeat. Sydel Manyik, his youngest granddaughter, remembers her grandpa best through his beloved spaghetti recipe and the living tradition of checking if the pasta is done by throwing the individual noodles at the wall to see if they stick. Anyone that knew Mark would agree that a week was never complete without some dancin’ and time spent with family and friends. Most Sundays started with vacuuming at 5am and ended with cooking an amazing and delicious dinner. Throughout the day there was always Westerns playing on the T.V., grilling some hangiburgers “just right” and wrestling with the fayjeemingle (garden hose). Mark Manyik’s zest for life and love in his heart was overflowing and could not always be contained within the man, he felt too hard… In the end, Mark Manyik will be lovingly remembered for decades to come by all his family and his many friends. Mark is survived by his Mother Millie Manyik, his children Chance & Krystalynn Manyik, grandchildren Aiden & Sydel Manyik, his sisters Terri (Victor) Volosin, & Lisa (Randy) Martin, his nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, Aaron & Maggie Volosin, Melissa & Trevor Smith, Jamie & Donovan Mitchell, Kasey & Stephanie Martin, and Jared & Jenna Martin, as well as Kerri. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Joe and Helen Manyik, and LaVern & Mary Gross, his father Delmer Manyik, and Aunt Kathleen Neptune.
