Myrna Kay Ashcraft, born August 29, 1940 in Hugo, Colorado to Vallie and W.H. Pisel. Myrna passed away peacefully June 27, 2018 in Memorial Hospital Central, Colorado Springs, following a 12 year battle with Kidney Failure. She was a lifelong resident of Colorado and graduated from Hugo High School in 1958. No matter what life gave her she was able to live it with faith, grace, dignity and above all other Love.
Myrna married Dale Ashcraft in October 9, 1959 and to this union they had three children. After she married Dale she started on a long road of farm and ranch life. She later took courses at Morgan Community College to support her love of farm and ranching. While working at Prairie View Care Center she obtained her CNA license. She had a great passion to give loving care to the residents. She missed working with Carla Weeks and Helen Clements greatly. Myrna was a great cook that loved feeding her residents, family, and friends. She loved to read and garden and her rose bed was her pride and joy. It was a great honor for her to be able to take care of Dale’s mother’s roses and adding her own. When it came to ranch work there was little that she could not do. Myrna and Dale worked together to build a ranch and family.
Through these years they built a marriage that was strong and nurturing to each other and their children. Myrna lived for her husband and children and proved this by battling health issues for many years so she could just have one more day with them. When the battle could be fought no longer her last words were, “The Lord loves me and the Lord Loves you.” Through her strength, courage, and faith she enjoyed a beautiful life and shared it with many important people. She valued family, friendship and faith above all else.
Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Katherine Howe, Wilma Swan, Margie Walden, Arlene Howe and Zary Pisel. She is survived by husband Dale and children; Carey (Grandson Andy Calloway), Curtis (Penny Reynolds) and Rhonda (Bill) Christie, numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.
