Nicholas And Natalie Norton

Nicholas Norton Nicholas Neal Norton passed away on October 15, 2021 Born January 18, 1936 in Waukegan Illinois. Only child born to Tovio and Lillian (Olander) Norton. The family moved to a farm north and west of Gurley, Nebraska. The Government came in and bought the land and the farm to build military bunkers. Nicholas and his parents then bought a farm a mile south of Peetz, Colorado in 1942. Nicholas helped his parents farm until the day he took a job with the phone company. Nicholas graduated from Peetz School in 1954. On June 21, 1957, Nicholas married Sharon Daugherty and in that union they had two children, daughter Kelly Barrett and Troy Norton. They later divorced. On February 14, 1992 Nicholas and Natalie were united in marriage. Nicholas retired from AT&T on December 31, 1993. Nicholas was preceded in death by his parents Lillian and Tovio Norton, grandson Cody Barrett, and his loving wife Natalie. Survivors of Nicholas are daughter Kelly Barrett and husband Larry, Grandson Caleb Barrett and wife Stephanie, great grandchildren Brighton and Baylor Barrett. Great granddaughter Christina Barrett (Cody Barrett), Grandson Casey Barrett and friend Reiley Eutsler. Son Troy Norton and wife Michele. Grandson Tyler Norton and great granddaughter Serenity Norton, and stepdaughter Tami Murphy and husband John. Natalie Norton Natalie Ann Norton, age 75, passed away on October 6, 2021 in Colorado Springs, CO. She was born on September 29, 1946 to Paul and Anna (Kucerick) Volosin. Natalie graduated from Calhan High School in 1964 and went to work as a telephone operator for Mountain Bell in Limon, CO. On September 4, 1965, Natalie married Timothy Ford Murphy of Simla, CO and they moved to Greeley, CO. From this union, a daughter Tami Ann was born on July 25, 1967 and a son Thomas Andrew on March 31, 1971 (who passed away on April 13, 1971). Tim and Natalie divorced in 1986. On Valentine’s Day 1992 Natalie married Nicholas Neal Norton in Loveland, CO. After 30 years of service, Natalie retired from Mountain Bell on April 14, 1995. Nicholas and Natalie moved to Calhan, CO to be closer to Natalie’s family. They were active members of the community and St Mary’s Orthodox Church. Natalie created and operated a Card Ministry in which she wrote by hand letters and cards to residents of local nursing homes and assisted living facilities as well as homebound individuals and those needing the comfort and inspiration of personal correspondence. As often as she could she also visited the nursing homes and facilities bringing her beautiful smile, wonderful laughter and stuffed teddy bears or bunnies to share with all. Natalie loved to read and discuss scripture, inspiring others with her thoughtful words and supportive nature. Natalie was preceded in death by her brother David Paul, her son Thomas Andrew, her mama Anna Patricia and her dad Paul. Survivors of Natalie are her daughter Tami Ann Murphy and son in law John Leonhardt of Tigard, OR, her brothers Leonard Volosin and Victor Volosin and sister in law Terri Volosin, nephew Aaron Volosin and his wife Maggie, great nephews Brant, Barrett and Brice of Calhan, CO, niece Melissa Smith and husband Trevor, great nephew Hilton and great niece Brecklyn of Kiowa, CO, niece Jamie Mitchell and husband Donovan of Colorado Springs, CO, numerous cousins, and stepdaughter Kelly Barrett, stepson Troy Norton and their families.
