Oliver Wayne "Wayne" Brown, 87, of Limon, Colorado, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, at his cherished "Jesus is Lord Ranch" North of Limon.

Wayne was born on December 26, 1937, in Genoa, Colorado, the third of six children born to Howard Lincoln and Lucille Jewel (Miley) Brown.

As a teenager, Wayne worked a few summers on his Uncle Bill and Aunt Jo Alma "Jo" Nickell's farm north of Genoa. In the late fall of 1954, Wayne moved to the farm to help his Aunt Jo and her children after his Uncle Bill died. Due to Wayne's work abilities, the landlord was willing to a new share cropper lease with Jo. Wayne continued to attend high school and graduated in 1957. In addition to working on the farm with his Aunt Jo, he played football in high school. While playing in one of the games, an Official told him he was a college scout and he would get him recruited if he would like to play college football. Wayne wasn't a fan of large crowds and decided to make farming his life.

In the early 1970's Wayne began purchasing the property north of Limon from Richard Menge, which Wayne still owned at the time of his passing. Wayne continued to work with his Aunt Jo until she re-married and Aunt Jo's husband took over the work that Wayne had faithfully done through the years. After that, Wayne moved to his own property and began devoting more time to his ranch. There was still a lot of work that was traded and equipment shared between Wayne and his Aunt Jo and they maintained an excellent relationship. A dedicated farmer and rancher, Wayne spent his days tending the land and ranching. He loved fishing, camping, and hunting.

Wayne was a longtime member of Hi-Plains Baptist church in Limon where he met Marianna. On May 6, 1984, Wayne and Marianna married. For 37 years they shared their lives at the Jesus is Lord Ranch and devoted themselves to God and to helping raise their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Marianna Brown, on December 17, 2021; his parents, Howard and Lucille; sister and brother-in-law Rosalee and Wayne Sease; brother and sister-in-law Robert "Bob" and Caroline, brother Chester, and brother Richard.
