Burlington, Colorado resident Philippa Alice Standley passed away on January 16, 2021 at University of Colorado Hospital Authority in Aurora, Colorado. She was 52 years old. Philippa was born on November 5, 1968 to Judy Ellen (Parmer) and Phillip Leo Standley in Wichita, Kansas, the eldest of four children. She grew up in Mulvane, Kansas and graduated from Mulvane High School in 1987. In school she played volleyball her freshman year and was on the yearbook committee. After high school she studied graphic design and jewelry making at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. During her college years, she learned to knit and liked developing her own knitting patterns. She lived in Lawrence, Kansas for 28 years. Philippa loved to read starting from the early age of three. She worked at the local Mulvane library during her teens and has recently been serving on the Burlington Public Library Board. During her summers in Mulvane, she worked at the Summer Recreation Program helping children with their ceramic projects. She loved art and design and liked to find various creative outlets. Some of her favorite pastimes were baking cakes, visiting museums, and going to concerts. She loved spending time with her cats (Flea, Olive, Loki, and Thor). Her most favorite pastime was visiting and playing with her four nephews. Preceding her in death are her father, Phillip, her paternal grandparents, Marvin and Alice Standley of Mulvane, Kansas, her maternal grandparents, Ben and Mildred Parmer of Burlington, Colorado, and her uncle Paul Parmer of Burlington, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memories are her mother, Judy Standley, her brother Phillip Standley both of Burlington, Colorado, her sisters; Judith (Dan) Hoban and their children, Benjamin and Henry of San Francisco, California, Rachel (Mark) Lofland and their children, Brendan and Jerrod of Moscow Mills, Missouri, and her Aunt Tony Parmer of Burlington, Colorado. Memorials may be made to the Burlington Public Library in Philippa's memory and may be left at or sent to Love Funeral Home, 377 15th Street, Burlington, Colorado 80807.
