Randy L. Olesen

Randel Lee "Randy" Olesen, age 70, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, at Sangre de Cristo Hospice House in Pueblo, Colorado. His final days were surrounded by the care and comfort of family and friends who cherished his presence and spirit.

Born on March 12, 1955, in Flagler, Colorado, Randy spent his formative years in Limon, where he developed a deep love for the outdoors and a lifelong connection to eastern Colorado. He graduated from Limon High School in 1973, where he played football and enjoyed participating in various sports activities.

Following graduation, Randy began his career with Rock Island Railroad. His strong work ethic and dedication carried him through many years with the railroad before he transitioned to a successful second career with Clayton Homes. There, he was recognized as one of the company's most successful salespeople and a valued team player. His natural charisma and ability to connect with others led him to continue his sales career with several car dealerships, where he left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike.

Randy had a magnetic personality-he never met a stranger. Known for his kindness and sense of humor, he found joy in conversation and took pride in helping others whenever he could. Whether sharing stories or lending a hand, Randy made people feel seen and appreciated.

His love for the outdoors was evident throughout his life. As a young man, Randy spent countless summers camping and water skiing at Lake Meredith in Ordway with family-memories filled with laughter alongside aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He also developed an early passion for motorbikes, starting with a Honda 70 before graduating to his favorite ride-a Harley Davidson.

In later years, Randy embraced the tranquility of nature by moving to Beulah, Colorado near the San Isabel Mountains. There he found peace exploring mountain roads in his truck accompanied by friends, family members, and his beloved Golden Retriever, Booker. He especially enjoyed quiet moments on his back porch soaking in the serenity of small-town life.

Though not affiliated with any formal religious institution, Randy felt deeply connected to nature-finding spiritual solace in the forest and mountains that surrounded him.

Randy is survived by his loving wife Sandy Berryman; daughter Kendel Olesen; brother John Olesen; sister-in-law Debbie Olesen; along with several other cherished family members and extended relatives who will carry forward his memory.

He was preceded in death by his Brother Craig Olesen; Mother Wilma Delores Butler; and Father John Godfrey Olesen.

Randy will be remembered for his strength during difficult times and the warmth he brought into every room. His legacy lives on through those who knew him, best family members who loved him dearly and friends who admired his courage and generosity.

May his memory bring comfort to all whose lives he touched.
