Robyn Behrens age 54 of Strasburg, Colorado lost her courageous battle with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer at 4:20am on October 21, 2021 due to a blood clot which traveled to her lungs
Robyn LuDean Simons was born in Rapid City, South Dakota on April 17th, 1967 to Monte and Annie Simons who now reside at Whitewood, South Dakota. She was the 3rd of 4 children.
She attended Metagoshe and Enning grade schools in South Dakota until the family moved to Bennett, Colorado in 1979. She graduated from Bennett High School in 1985. She worked after school at the MGS Pizza Barn during her high school years. After Robyn graduated she cleaned hotel/motel rooms at the Hampton Inn and Country Manor and also cleaned a few homes. She then moved onto work at Bennett Super's and Corner Market grocery stores.
Robyn married Frankie Joe Behrens on August 19th, 1989 at Our Lady of the Plains Catholic Church in Byers, Colorado. They purchased the current home in Strasburg in October 1989 and have resided there ever since.
Adding children to the family was not an easy task and they suffered many miscarriages thru out the years but finally completed the family with Shelby Montana on October 29th, 1992. After Shelby began attending school at Strasburg Elementary, Robyn began a job in the Strasburg Elementary School Cafeteria. She then finished out her working career at the I-70 Scout after working there over 15 years.
Robyn's hobby's included loving and spoiling her beloved horses Cowboy and Fiesty, and Papa's pup Sparky. She loved collecting interesting antiques and displaying them around her house and yard and enjoyed numerous creative crafting projects that she generously gave as gifts a lot of the time (not sure who enjoyed it more-- her giving the gift or those of us that were lucky enough to receive one of the beautiful blessings!!). She was so creative!! Robyn had an immaculate yard and enjoyed every minute of being outside until the cancer stripped her of that joy when she was diagnosed in 2017. She was always ready and willing to lend a hand and help absolutely anyone who needed it, no matter how strenuous, tedious or time consuming. She also thoroughly enjoyed cheering and supporting all of the local sports teams.
Robyn is survived by her daughter Shelby, parents Monte and Annie of Whitewood, South Dakota, Sister Dora of Oklahoma, Brother James (Brenda) Simons of Bennett, Colorado and Sister Misty (Brian) Walker of Union Center, South Dakota. Nieces and nephews, many beautiful cousins, dear friends and beloved dog Cowboy.
She was preceeded in death by her husband Frank who passed on July 23rd 2021, her 5 angel babies, maternal and paternal grandparents, her Uncle Robert, her Aunt Cheryl, her Uncle Harlen and her cousin April.
