Ronald Glenn Maupin, born on June 3, 1947, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2024, at the age of 77 surrounded by loved ones.
Ron, as he was most widely known, was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, known for his humor, unparalleled work ethic, and unwavering dedication to his family. He was born in Liberal, Kansas, moved to Colorado at a young age and grew up in Las Animas, Colorado. Ron spent his early years playing football, baseball, and was an outstanding basketball player, but also loved to water ski. In his late teens and early 20’s, he fell in love with rodeo as a bulldogger and became a truck driver, but was best known professionally as an industrial sandblaster and painter. He met his wife, Kathryn, in Pueblo in 1970; they were married a year later, and enjoyed 53 years of marriage.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Harold; his mother, Lila; and oldest brother Jim. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn; his brother, Jerry (Joyce); his two sons: Justin (Janet), Jeremiah (Jenny); and his grandchildren: Alexandria, Katelyn, Alana (Ian), Kayla, and Damian; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Ronald will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for October 12th. Invites will be going out via social media, phone, and email as soon as plans are finalized. If there’s a chance the family does not have your contact information and you’d like to be in attendance, they would love to have you.
