Shirley M Jolly

August 8, 1943 — May 19, 2022

Shirley Marie (Glass) Jolly 78, of Genoa Colorado passed away on May 20, 2022. A celebration of life will be held at Genoa Community Cemetery on Saturday, June 18th 2022. She was born on August 8th 1943 to G.W. and Vera Glass in Texas. She then came with her family to Colorado and lived at The Boyd Ranch North of Limon Colorado. Where she also attended school. Shirley was a hard-working woman that had several different jobs. To mention a few, she worked for CDOT as a flagger, a school cook for Genoa/Hugo School district, and as a seamstress where she got to share her love of sewing. Shirley has three children, Ronald and Donald, 58, and Michelle 54. Shirley enjoyed “mothering” her children’s friends. Their home was often referred to as “Grand Central Station”. She was passionate about gardening and sewing. You could always find her working diligently outside in her huge vegetable garden during the summer months. In her later years that garden turned into beautiful flower beds where she planted dozens of different types of flowers. Some of her favorite flowers were hibiscus, and iris. She loved anything outdoors especially going fishing with family and friends. In the winter months Shirley loved to play cards, and dominoes any chance she got. She had many house plants that she took care of to keep her green thumb busy. She would also spend time with her mother making quilts for all of her family members. She loved visiting with people and sharing stories and pictures of her family. Shirley’s family was the most important part of her life. She loved and cared for each one dearly. Shirley was survived by her mother Vera Glass; brother Tom (Cathy) Glass; Sister Ruth (Rod) Blackwelder; Brother Will (Kim) Glass; her sons Ronald (Nina) Jolly, and Donald (Janean) Jolly; daughter Michelle Heiter. Grandsons Matthew (Brittney) Heiter; Nathan (Brooke) Heiter; Patrick Heiter; Granddaughter Paige Cullens; Grandsons Nolan Jolly; David Jolly; Granddaughter Samantha (Paul) Thiesen; Granddaughter Kelsie (Bryce) Rone; Granddaughter Makenzie (Kainin O’Malley) Jolly; 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Shirley was preceded in death by her father G.W. Glass; Brother Troy Glass; Brother Buddy Glass; and Sister Kitty Glass. Shirley was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
