Veva June Morris

January 19, 1934 — July 8, 2017

Veva June Clark was born on January 19th 1934 to Arthur Bryan Clark and Mary Rose (Johnson)Clark and took her last breath on earth on Saturday July 8th 2017. Veva had 7 brothers and sisters, Vera Smith, Violet Parks, Verlene Conner, Verene Clark, Virgil Clark, Vernon Clark and Victor Clark. Veva attended Second Central school during grade school then attended Flagler School through the 8th grade. Veva was united in marriage to Lowell Wayne Goodwin(Babe) on June 3rd,1946 when she was 15. To this union they were blessed with six children, Minta Wunder, Odis Goodwin, Lucille Dykes, Resha Santistevan, Rena Goodwin and Kim Goodwin. They also were blessed with 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Veva was a housewife and babysat for many families in Flagler while her children were young and later worked at the Flagler Dry Cleaners and Colo Bird Seed Company. Veva and Lowell ran the Coffee Cup Cafe for 4 years that was well known for Ruby Goodwin's cinnamon rolls and Vera Smith's fried chicken. Veva loved a good joke and was the instigator of many. You may have found a rubber snake in your bed(as Lowell did), a ceramics toad in your coffee cup, or a dribble down your chin from the fancy glass with holes cut through. On January 25th 1985 after 34 & 1/2 years of marriage her husband Lowell passed away after a lengthy illness. After the loss of her husband she worked as a live in care taker for many families around Flagler & Seibert and later in Holyoke and Denver allowing many to stay in their homes longer. Veva married Gerald Morris on May 31st,1989. They enjoyed their frequent trips to Joes and Goodland to visit his family in Joes and Russ & Jamie Goodwin in Goodland. She also loved visits from her children and grandchildren and any visitors. Veva continued working in home health care for the elderly until Gerald required more care at home. When both Veva and Gerald became ill they entered the Lincoln Community Nursing Home in October of 2010 and was there until the death of Gerald in Nov of 2011 after 22 years of marriage. After Gerald's death Veva moved back to Flagler and was a resident at Aspen Leaf Assisted Living until she became ill and re entered the Lincoln Community Nursing Home. She was well loved by all the staff and always had a hand to hold or a kiss on the cheek when needed. Veva is preceded in death by her husbands Lowell Goodwin and Gerald Morris, her daughter Minta Wunder, her parents Arthur and Mary Clark, her siblings Vernon Clark, Verene Clark, Violet Parks, Vera Smith, Verlene Conner and Virgil Clark, and grand daughter Ashley Tallent.
