Wesley Sherman Eslinger was born on December 18, 1935, at the family farm north of Bethune, Colorado, to Willie and Pearl (Gerring) Eslinger. His older siblings welcomed him home: Melvin, Opal, Wallace, and Velma. He was raised on the family farm north of Bethune and attended Bethune School, where he graduated in 1953. On July 1, 1955, he married Evelyn Matthies. Three children were born into this union: Rodney, Tammy, and Laura. In his early years, Wesley drove the school bus and soon began his career in Farming. Wesley and Evelyn raised their family on the Sam Marrow Farm, where he worked from 1961 until he retired in 2002. His passion was Farming, and he was blessed to have worked his entire life doing what he loved. Wesley and Evelyn moved to Burlington, Colorado, 2002 to live out their retirement years.

He was a longtime member of the Burlington Christian Church and led his life walking in the Christian faith. Wesley saw that his children were raised with strong Christian morals and knew the values of hard work.

He served in the National Guard until 1974 when he retired as a first sergeant. During the years of the National Guard, Wesley enjoyed playing baseball and playing the position of pitcher.

Wesley's entire family made Many memories during the sweet corn harvest. He grew enough sweet corn for his brother and sisters and their families. A unique family day was planned annually to put up corn, which always led to many fun times and lifelong memories for all of his nieces and nephews.

Wesley was a family man. He loved his family and Farming and was a dedicated hard worker. He was always there to help his family in times of trouble and was found to be a "calming force." Westley went to be united with his Lord and Savior on November 27, 2021.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Pearl Eslinger; his brothers, Melvin, Wallace, and Virgil Eslinger; and his sisters, Opal Schaal, Velma Sweet, and Viva Witzel. His daughter Tammy (Eslinger) Zemp, and one infant Grandson, Luke Eslinger.

He leaves to mourn his wife of 66 years, Evelyn (Matthies) Eslinger. His son, Rodney Eslinger of Ft. Collins, and his daughter, Laura Eslinger of Topeka, Kansas. Grandchildren: Christina Eslinger, Anna Eslinger, Matthew Eslinger, Mike Nelson, Bob Nelson, Timothy Nelson, Daniel Zemp, Ryan Lamb, ReAnne Kirkpatrick, and Christopher Kirkpatrick. Great-Grandchildren: Daniel and Samuel Eslinger and Gabriel Foster. Kailey and Evan Nelson, Heavan and Paige Lamb, Destiny McArthur, Faith Thompson, and Sylvia Reed. His Sisters, Ruby Hundertmark and Goldie Weber, both of Garden City, Ks, and Annabell Weehunt of Twin Falls, ID.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Burlington VFW Post #6491.
